Byron Bay International Film Festival 20-29 October 2023 is held across multiple venues, the Byron Bay Film Festival (BBFF) is a platform for outstanding independent film talent, showcasing a uniquely rich and diverse program of entertaining, inspiring and thought provoking films. It’s a festival that fuses artistry, education and innovation, enhancing our worldview and collective social dialogue through the power and storytelling of film. BBFF2023 runs at some of the finest cinema venues across the Northern Rivers region presenting an array of screenings and fun Special Events in Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Brunswick Heads and Murwillumbah. Also the Schools Program returns for the first time since 2019, bringing great films to children and young people across from Murwillumbah to Ballina.

MOST FEATURE FILMS AT BBFF ARE PRECEDED BY SHORTS. SHORT FILM AFICIONADOS WILL LOVE OUR INTERNATIONAL SHORTS, HOME GROWN FILMS AND OUR YOUNG AUSTRALIAN FILMMAKER OF THE YEAR SESSIONS.

115 Young Australian Filmmakers entered BBFF’s coveted Young Australian Filmmaker of the Year Competition this year. This session features the top 10 Nominees for 2023.
