Tweed Regional Gallery & Margret Olley Art Centre- Murwillumbah
Tweed Regional Gallery & Margret Olley Art Centre is located 40 minutes from Bayview Apartments.
Margaret Olley was an artistic icon of the Northern Rivers and the Art Centre that bears her name is no different! Originally opened in 1988, the Gallery moved to its current home in 2004. Set in a beautiful new building with panoramic views from every window.
The Gallery has 6 exhibition spaces with a vibrant program of both touring and regional artists. With a focus on national significance and Australian life.
The Final Stage of the Tweed Regional Gallery is the Margaret Olley Art Centre (MOAC). The intricate display celebrates the life and legacy of, arguably, one of Australia’s most celebrated painters. The recreation of her famous home studio is not to be missed.
Visitors to The Gallery can also enjoy a huge array of workshops, artist talks, and demonstrations as well as the Gallery Shop and Research Library. The Gallery Café provides the perfect setting to take a break from your artistic exploration with indoor/outdoor seating options all taking advantage of the stunning Tweed valley scenery.
